Mary – Lead Teacher

It was when my two children attended preschool then I discovered how much I enjoyed observing and being with children, even those who weren’t my own.  I’ve been working with children for over a decade now,  in the REACH Infant Learning Program, as a para-educator in the Juneau School District, and then, coming full circle, as a teacher at the Juneau Co-op Preschool where I have been for the last 12 years.

I studied History and English at the Evergreen State College and am currently working on my CDA in center-based preschool education.  My favorite things to do with young children include sharing stories and poetry, exploring the outdoors, singing songs (though not particularly well) and all kinds of messy art and cooking projects.
